Spring tulips, summer meadows, autumn chinar or winter snow? Pick the right month for your Kashmir trip.
Spring: March to April
Almond and cherry blossom arrive first, followed by the tulip bloom in Srinagar. Days are mild, nights are cold and Gulmarg often still has snow. See our Tulip Season plan.
Summer: May to August
Meadows are green and every valley is open: Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Doodhpathri and the high lakes. It's the classic window for the Kashmir Paradise circuit and for Ladakh road journeys.
Autumn: September to November
Chinar leaves turn gold and red, skies are crisp and crowds thin out. It's a favourite with photographers.
Winter: December to February
Snow transforms Gulmarg and Srinagar. If you want skiing and sledging, look at the Gulmarg Snow Escape. Pack proper layers.
